Nothing Like Fresh Strawberries!

We're surrounded by strawberry fields and after seeing them everyday for the past 7 months we've been here, I finally stopped at one to buy some.  I can't believe how sweet smelling they are and must have said it at least three times to the cashier as I was making my purchase.  They were picked this morning and are the best strawberries I ever had!

Easter

We decorated cookies and colored eggs with the family.  Justin proved he's quite the cookie decorator, see below!  My cousin did the the yellow Angry Bird.

Always fun to hang out with these kiddos!

Introducing Our Small Group

We meet every other Thursday night for dinner and bible study over Colossians.  They are such a special group of couples and we are blessed to have connected with them here!

This is the best we could do to get a picture of us all.

LA Galaxy vs. New England Revolution

A few weeks ago I got to check out my first MLS soccer game (thanks to LivingSocial) and watch the 2011 defending champs take on the New England Revolution. We had some pretty good seats and I'm glad we were under the covered portion of the stadium because it started to rain right as the game got under way.

I was surprised to see the fans really get into the game with some chanting and there was even a section of fans behind the goal who stood up the entire game. As for the game itself, there was a lot of action in the first half. Unfortunately it was two quick goals for NE in the first 13 minutes of the game. The level of play was better than I expected -- after all this isn't the Champions League we're talking about. Beckham even had a couple free kicks that nearly went in. The Galaxy came back to score one in rubbish time as Robbie Keane put one in the back of the net as the game was nearing its end. The final was 3-1 in favor of New England. The Galaxy are off to a rough start this season and I was bummed that Donovan was out due to injury, but nevertheless it was a great experience.
